Oklahoma's minibike hotshot, Colt
Humphrey (1), debuted his 125cc ride to
win the 125cc Schoolboy class.
(Below) Brandon Willis (33) and Chaz
Holladay (14) battled it out in both the
51cc (7-8) and 51cc Open classes at
Cooperland Raceway in Stillwater,
Oklahoma, \\lith Willis getting the starts
and Holladay taking the wins .
Marley rode a flawless moto and kept
Reed behind him for the remain der of

The tw o-d a y even t cele bra ted th e
en thusiasm for racing shared by the two
sta tes on the Red River, as Ok lahoma's
Colt Humphrey mad e his 125cc debut ;
Texan [acki Hudson took con trol of the
Ladies class, and Okie Chase Reed continued to terrorize the 125/ 25Occ Pro ranks.
G uy a nd W anda Cooper outdid
themselves and ended the weekend on a
very hig h note, havin g run 613 entered
racers on a perfectly groo med cou rse in
very tim ely fas hion. Only a han d fu l of
rid ers claimed double class wins: Texan
Chaz Hollad ay domina ted both the 51cc
(7-8) and 51cc Open even ts; Oklahoma's
Chas e Reed continued his wi nni ng steak
in the 125cc and 250cc Pro classes; Texas
Vet Cla y Ho en shell stay ed ou t fro nt in
the Over 25 A and O ver 30 A contests;
Ryan St. Cyr, who recen tly reloca ted to
Nort h Texas from Oklahoma, top ped
the 125cc Band 250cc Open events; and
Bubba Bardwell traveled from Mississippi to take both the Over 25 and Over
30 Nov ice-class win s.

Ok lahoma's Colt Humphrey caught a
lot of the atte ntion in his official d ebut
on a n RM 125. Humphrey, re cen tl y
crowned at both Ponca City and Loretta
Lynn ' s w it h m in ib ike cha mpions hi p
titles, impressed everyone in the 125cc
School boy even t, t a ki n g bo th m oto
wins. Humphrey stru gg led in the 125cc
B Intermediate race, th ou gh, when he
gated last off the start, moved up to sev enth pla ce and then went d own jus t out
of the first creek sec tion , finishing 20th .
His return in moto tw o was flawless,
tak ing the win in front of Ryan St. Cyr,
who used his first-m oto third to take the
overall.
The 125cc Sch oo lbo y event sta rted
ou t w ith H u mph rey first off the ga te,
scali ng the ou tside berm of the first tu rn
to shoo t d own the straighta way. Caju n
Da nny Wald rop gat ed second on his
Ca pital Collision / Bar d well Yama ha, bu t
KTM-mounted Joel Galla gher took ove r
the p osition before the end of the first
lap . Wal drop held on to th ird for tw o
laps before "Buzz" Mayfield caug ht him
in the firs t woods section on lap three,
s lip p ing by th e Caj un a nd assum ing
third for the rem aind er of th e race. In
the meantime, Th omas Stout held d own

fifth, as a heated batt le ensued betwee n
Andrew Clark and Mike Sou th erland,
each passing back and for th . Clark finis h ed s ixth a n d So u the r la nd eig hth,
after Rusty Huddle crep t up on Southerland on the last lap and stole his po sition awa y.
In the second Schoo lboy moto, Mayfield led the uphill start to the first tu rn,
but Humphrey edged his way throu gh
the firs t turn to lead down the straightaway. Humphre y kep t Ma yfield at his
back tire , as Gallagher trailed in third.
Southerland raced in fourth into lap two
befor e Joe Bailey reeled him in for the
pass. In the meantime, Wald rop started
in seventh and used each lap to gai n a
position, passing first Clark a nd th en
Southerland to wo rk his way into fifth
by the end of the race.
[acki Hudson lead s the po ints in the
Ladi es' cat egory, having won th e last
tw o round s, at Lake Whitney MX and
Cooperland Raceway. Hudson , bearing
her AMA Women's Outd oor number
seven on her KXI25, abscond ed with the
holesh ot in both mo tos and stayed out
front to the finish in each eve nt.

Hud s on in moto on e but was soo n
replaced by Kristi Myers wh en Dial miscued. Sarah Crofoot raced in third, followed by Tracy Kisor and then Dia l.
Kiso r fell on lap tw o and was quic kly
replac ed by Di al, fo llowed by An gie
Step hens, Shelley Dixon and then Kisor,
bu t th en Ca thy Craig p assed Kisor on
th e fi na l la p to fi nis h s ix th, pushing
Kisor back to sevent h.
Hudson took th e holesh ot in mot o
two an d once again led from start to finish, th is time chased by Kisor . Mye rs
once again took ove r the number-two
spot in short ord er. Kisor held on to third
all the way, wi th Crofoot giving chase.
Dixon started in fifth bu t lost her positio n
to Craig on lap two, finishing sixth.

appea rs to be hard to stop. As the season continues, the Pro ranks are acq uiring more rid ers; this particular sto p in
O klahoma wi tnessed the debut of Johnny Marley an d the re tu rn of Jake Ma rtin.
Reed stole the holeshot in the first
moto of the 250cc Pro eve nt , wi th Cycle
Town South's Dean Lane to his right
and Dwain Ca rter to his 'Ie ft , C had
Plumlee jumped in behind the leaders,
followed by Dou g Stone, Cory Francis,
Kenny Bartram a nd Joh nn y Marl ey .
Francis and Ca rter bo th fell on lap two,
and Lane fell on lap thr ee.
Bartra m and Marley passed Plumlee
on lap three to assume third and fourth.
Stone cru ised in second . Marl ey grabbed
some extra th ro ttle an d go t around Bartram on the fourth lap and set his sigh ts
o n Stone, passin g him in th e tow er
s weeper . Bartram followed Marley' s
lead and als o pa ssed Stone, and th en
caught up to Marley. Marley miscued
o n the fin al lap and dropped back to
eighth. Bartram took the checkered flag
in second , followed by Stone, as Reed
led them all to the finis h line .

them . Reed fell victim to a miscu e that
cos t hi m three p ositions. Marley took
over th e cha rge, cha sed by Hoensh ell

a round both Vet Pr os, Hoenshe ll and
Lane, on the seco nd lap and began to
hun t down his fellow Ok ie, but Marl ey
had alrea dy established a bit of a lead.
