In the 60cc (9-11) class at the fina l ro und of lMS
Pro Series Stadiurncross acti on, Mike Mead e a nd
B.). Bohrer thrilled the crowd as the y ba ttled to
the finish.
In t h e fi rst mo to, No leen / AC Racin g ' s
Mead e cla imed the holeshot, with IMS/ Cycle
City-spo nsored Bohrer on his back tire. Warren
Davis and A nd rew Yarnell foll o we d close
beh ind .
Meade and Bohrer quickly dev eloped a large
lead , w it h bot h rid ers d rawing cheers as they
doubled the specta tor jumps. Bohrer continued
to wait for Meade to mak e a mistak e, bu t Meade
rod e seem ing ly effortlessly to the finish . Yarnell
passed Dav is for th ird a fte r Davi s sta lled his
bike in a tum.
At the finish line, Mead ecap tured first, followed by Bohre r, Yarn ell and Davis.

GT Lights event, an d it was La roy M o n t gom ~ ry

was red-flagged on the last lap for four sepa rate
cra shes around the trac k. Mon tgom er y, who
helps design an d bu ild the M4 exhaust system,
was making his first appearance at Fifl~bi rd and,
a lthough he was pitt ing ou t of the back o f his
SUV , the 44-vear-o ld Te xa n was a th reat in
every class he ~n tcn..-d.
The CTU con tes t got off to a n unfort un ate
~ta rt when KTM rider Greg Mariani crashed early
in the ra ce and l1<1d to be air.-evacua tt.'d to the
local hospita l with leg and back injuries . After the
restar t, Kieffer :;et sa il and buil t up a good lead ,
but JaTL--d Kapoor caug ht Kieffer nap ping on the
last lap and stu ffed his way up the inside of Kidfer's R6 in the last come r to ta ke the win.
Mark Led esma handily won the Lightweight
Su pe rbike ra ce from Mon tgomery . Led esm a

well clear of Mon tgom ery, a nd he had bu ilt up a
IS-second lead by the last lap . This race was also

The Su pcrtwins race featured a goo d di ce
between TL1000 rider Scott Willock and Ducati
748 rid er Tom Hull. Hu ll led at the start an d it
loo ked like he was goi ng to br ea k away, but
Willock reeled him in and made a pass for the
lead on lap six. Willock turned a low 1.tn- second lap time, but Hull was right on his tail on
the last la p and for ced the iss ue in the last com er
to take the win .
In the Unlimited Superbike race, there wa s a
bi g s u rp r ise for local ra cer s wh e n Vincent
Haskovec took the win going away. The Suzuki
rider rode a Ca ry Andrews- prepa red GSXR750
to a big wi n a nd collected Suz uki co ntingency
money on his first visit to the Fircbird track. ell
