It's tough to fault the Suzuki. In fact,
can't. Why it's not my number-one
choice is a bit of a mystery to me, too,
but these days, with the bikes so similar
in performance, it's usually only that
unexplainable and personal "feel" that
sets one bike apart from another, and I
just liked the feel of the Yamaha and
Honda better than the Suzuki. That's
all. Otherwise, the RM is, for all intents
and purposes, just as good as the
Yamaha and Honda: power is abundant, suspension is plush, handling is
superb, but, for me, that confidenceinspiring feel just isn't there like it is
with the Yamaha and ·Honda.
seemingly built well, right up there with
Honda, the longtime undisputed leader
of this department.
But, for now, the class standout for
me in this shootout is the Yamaha. It just
has everything I want out of a 250cc
MXer - nothing more, nothing less.

I enj<;Jyed riding the Kawasaki, but it
has lI:ind of a tired feel about it. It's
wider than the rest.9t the bikes, the
front ·brake is a Jiitle.
