As th e 250cc Am at eu rs le tt the wet star t, Kawa sakj~mou nted Josh Elliott came out clean with the holeshot w hile mud b.:,thed Nate Conley, Blak e Woodman, Da n Greenwood, Bria n Miller, P~l t Schoendeck and the remaind er of the class , Wood ma n mad e a q uick lead cha nge on the eas t-side stra ightaway as he outmaneuvered Elliott thro ugh the was h area, but Elliotf took it back on the uphill section. Conley and Dan Jackson pr essed the leaders. Through the so uth-end uphill w hoop sect ion , Wood ma n skip ped by Elliott, taki ng ove r the lead o nce aga in. Jumping over the sma ll doubl es on the eas t side, Elliott and Co nley sailed acro ss tog et her , bu t Co nley, wit h th e cove ted ins ide line, assu m ed se co nd place w ith a sweet p il SS on a sha rp left turn. Just befo re the w hite flag , Co nley sa w his chance on the north west sweepe r, and he sneak ed to the inside a nd made the pass to finis h first. In the seco nd moto, Tim Bannister sta rted in fir st , Schoendec k in seco nd , Eric Stager th ird , Lake Woodman fou rth and Elliott fifth. When it was ov er, the overall o'r der was Schoendeck, Conley, B.mn ister, Elliott an d Stager. In the 250cc Pro class, there was a spt'ctac ula r cra sh in the mu d around the firs t tu rn as Shawn Morga n g ra bbed the ho leshot. Wav ne Balliett was second, Jeremy Hinrichs was th"ird, and as David Gon zales, on the inside, was about to p u sh h is wa y into fo ur th , he went down , causing a chain rea ction tha t caught Jak e Hogan , Tom Greenlee and Scott Hancey off guard, and they all piled on top of one another . Jared Carlson , w ho ex pe rie nce d problems on th e lin e , s wu n ~ to the far inside of the com er, moving him from last to 13th in the blink of an eye . On the uphill wh oop section, Kevin Hall went do wn hard a nd did no.t co mp le h.· the ra ce. Ca r bo n used his mu d -ri d ing sk ills to mo ve in to 10th.
