to be . Chiodi, riding a co mpletely different-than-regu larly accustomed-to Husqvarna CR125, had several bike problems
and several other pro blems throughout
the stint, but was still cou rteous and
friendly to all.

earlier, Carmichael did not even need to
gain any points, but he gai ned a pe rfect

an incredible 549 points. Sellards finis hed the seaso n in second with 396,
while his team mate Vo hla nd a lmos t
caught back u p (390) after his one-week

later, Chiodi too k a tumble and 'then he
slowly rode back to the pits . .

Carmichael had a ten-second lead
over Pingree as the two-lap bo ard came
o ut , and Ron ca d a was pressuring his

At th e e nd of th e thi rd lap it was
Carmichael with a two-second lead, followed by Johnson, Pin gre e, Fo nseca,
Vohland ,
. Sellards,
Ron cada ,
McCormick, Chiodi and Currie. Ronca(fa got by Sellards a short tim e later for
s ixth, a nd o ne lap la ter he moved by
Vohland for fifth.

"I crashed over on top of a hill and it
took me a cou ple of la ps to get going
again," Jo hnson exp lained of th e in cid ent. " I got re al bad arm pump a fte r
tha t. It sucked."
Johnson slowly remounted a nd re. entered the race in 10th. The crash gave

Carmichael, or the rest of the
field for that matter. Chiodi
suffered a crash in the first moto
and bike problems in the
second, pushing him way back
in the overall.

Vohland was injured, sellards
picked up the slack, posting
several pod ium finishes and
