Steel City aboard a Husqvarna /UFO / Fast by Ferracci-backed ri de, but his debu t was no t all that it was cracked up to be . Chiodi, riding a co mpletely different-than-regu larly accustomed-to Husqvarna CR125, had several bike problems and several other pro blems throughout the stint, but was still cou rteous and friendly to all. I With the title wrapped up one week earlier, Carmichael did not even need to gain any points, but he gai ned a pe rfect .'jO anyway and finis hed the season with an incredible 549 points. Sellards finis hed the seaso n in second with 396, while his team mate Vo hla nd a lmos t caught back u p (390) after his one-week injury-induced lay-off ea rlier in the season, and too k third . Wey finis hed fourth (328), Ra msey fifth (280) and Ro ncada mo ved u p to six th (270) after a d isma l first ha lf of the se ason. Carmichael had a ten-second lead over Pingree as the two-lap bo ard came o ut , and Ron ca d a was pressuring his tea mmate Fonseca for third . Carmichael MOT01 good . At th e e nd of th e thi rd lap it was Carmichael with a two-second lead, followed by Johnson, Pin gre e, Fo nseca, Vohland , . Sellards, Ron cada , McCormick, Chiodi and Currie. Ronca(fa got by Sellards a short tim e later for s ixth, a nd o ne lap la ter he moved by Vohland for fifth. Johnson slowly remounted a nd re. entered the race in 10th. Chiodi suffered a crash in the first moto and bike problems in the second, pushing him way back in the overall. (Right) FMFlHonda's Brock setlards turned out to be the team 's saving grace in some aspects. After teammate Tallon Vohland was injured, sellards picked up the slack, posting several pod ium finishes and even an overall. sellards finished second in the series but , could on ly muster a 14th at the final due to a troubtesome second moto. l The rid ers rocketed up the hill for the first time as Pingree led co ming out of the sh a r p left- ha nded tum.
