the nigh t. All proceeds were dona ted to the Jon
Rightm ire Co ntinuing Education Fund.
Oth e r awards were given away in recognition of Rightmire's rid ing number, 735, at the
requ est of Gary Rig htmire, who wan ted th e
event to be a positive one in his son's memory.

Many people who were a t the Memorial
Race at Frozen Ocean remembered Jon a nd the
great joy he received from racing. He knew how
to find the joy in the ride - in his daily life and
on the race trac k. He loved challenge. a nd his
enthusiasm for livin g on the edge bro ught him
and those aro und him excitement and exhilaration . He su cceeded on the track and in life, a nd
he will be missed and reme mbe red .

Shane Prieto claimed his first Shootout victory at
Homestead Mot orsports Complex. Last year,
Prieto set a track record at Moroso with 12 consecutive Shootou t vic tories, but un til now, he
had never won that race at Homestead. He also
wo n th e Heavy we ight Super Sport and Middleweight Superbike races an d placed seco nd in
Mid d leweight Superspo rt.
In the Shootou t, Prieto rode one of only two'
