Staton mad e th e p ass on Happle and took first place, despite losin g his kickstarter. Lancaster took second. Warren · Stimpson came in third. KTM rider Dale Shaffer found a wav aro und Randl e in a gnarly rock sec tion to take the lead and the wi n at the finish. Rand le held on to seco nd , while Kawasaki rid er John Becker came back from a last place sta rt to take third. In the Fou r-St ro ke B class, Ho nd a rid er s Tommy Tomlinson and Stephen Cro y battled for first pla ce in the first few lap s of the -race. Croy go t tan gled up in a bottleneck in a nasty br idge section , allowing Tomlinson th e opportu nity to take a hig h line to make the winning pa ss. Croy ca me in se co nd. Kawasaki jockey Allen Shaffer rod e a consist ent race to pla ce third. The Vet B class was led by Yam ah a · rid er Rand y Fink, wh o passed holesh ot sna tche r Christ opher Main. Main also gotby Hostetl er to take third , a nd Hostetler came in fou rth. In th e Senior B cla ss , Honda rider Wally Turfb oer took control with an impres s iv e hol esh ot. Turfboer m a in tained his lead even as he found himself plastered to the side of a tricky off-cam· ber. Knowing that second -placed Bob Wick wa s coming up fas t, T u rfboer unglue d himself from the hillside and came th rough the finish barr els in first. The Su permini class was d omi nated by Cycleworld /WERKS En gi neering / Fox-backed Bryan Hap p le, who m anaged an impressive finish despite losing his brakes on the firs t lap. Ha p ple was third in the woods, passin g Danie l Parker and Tim m y Craddock in turns and tight corners. Kawasaki rider Mic hael Sharp came from dead last on the start to pass the pa ck on a bridge crossing to take over second , despite the handicap of a flat fro n t tire .
