And re u Labrador stuffed his YZ into second, and Suzuki rider Steve Drew wa s in third . Tilley ha d been la te to the start, a nd he spoiled the field a t leas t a qua rter -la p adva ntage. Ou t fro nt , Musgrave held the point for two laps befo re Labrador slid past him . Tilley rode like a man POSSCs5l.~ , pa ssing riders in bun ches . By the tim e the 2(l..minute moto was half ove r, he had moved all the way up to four th , right behind Drew . Over the next half of the race, he passed. Drew, the n Musgrave, and finally Labrador on the white-flag lap to take over the lead . At the check ers , it was Tilley tak ing the mo to win. Labrador rode in for second, while Musgrave finished up in third . At the sta rt of moto two, Tilley ripped a clean ho leshot an d proceeded to ch e ck ou t. Drew ran strong in seco nd for mos t of the mot o, while L.1brador held down th ird . Tilley bobbled in a deep silt switchbac k s~ tion and took a. soi l sample. Drew was close enough to take adva ntage an d he rode by to take over the lead before Tilley cou ld remo un t. Drew was a ble to kee p Tilley beh ind him all the way to the chec kered flag for the moto win . L,brador also ma de a late mis take, which allowed Mu sgrave to move up to third . On the day, Tilley's 1-2 sco res ea rned h im firs t p la ce . Drew 's 4-1 ta lly was g oo d ~noug h for ru n ne r-up , while Musg rave's 3-3 rides earned him third ove rall. JULY 17 Des p ite th e pack of s cre a m in g BOcc racers behind him, Co rey Gustafson was not distracted one bit as he took his Yama ha to both mo to wins on the hi gh -sp eed , natural- te rra in Ca rls ba d Raceway. The first-mota holeshot went to Gustafs on . He was pu rsu ed by his closest rival, Kyle Ande r· son. The two racers took off from the rest of the pack and began the ir game of ca t-a nd -mo use. Both riders m ad e sligh t bo bbles , a llowing th e other to make up time. Around five seconds back in third was Mateo Safon; w ho was battling with Bryan Hill, the leader in the Begin ner division. Th e fro n t t wo ride rs se t a vicio us pa ce th at brought them up into the 250cc Begin ner class. G us tafson was a little q ui cke r in t ra ffic th an Anderson, w ho lost valua ble time an d energy dea ling wi th lappers. With two laps remain ing, Safon , in thir d, was being dogged by Hill.'Before the w hite flag fell, Hill used lapped traffic to his advantage and he pas sed Safon, w ho was stuck behind a lap per who would not yield to the faster racer . Gustafson cru ised the final lap to take the win , with Anderson in second and BOcc Beginner \"{inne Hill taking the third spo t in the mo to. r In th e second m o to , A n derson s lid h is Kawasaki aro un d the first tu rn first . Gus tafson was in second. Gustafson was not abo u t to a llow Anderson time to settle in to a good pa ce and he a ttacke d ca rlyon th e firs t lap. The third spot was held ear ly on by Tiffan y Holtman , but she was passed on the third lap by safon. By the time Sa fon moved into th ir d, Gus tafson and Anderso n wer e o ut of sight.
