Storm rages at Sandy MX By Pat Dougherty S AND Y,OR, AUG.8 No t a ra indrop fell all day, but there was a thundt!rstorm at Mount View Cycle Park when the SMP/ Sub Zero Mfg ./Devol Racing /PBI Sprockets /St. John 's Kawasaki-backed Mike Storm hit the track. The standou t from Beaverton , Oreg on, was a perfect four for fou r in the tou gh 125cc B and 250cc Bclasses. After Storm took a couple of holeshots a nd wins in the first round of motos, the starts were proving to be very im p o rta n t. Hqwever, a "b u mp" (albeit unintentional) around the first turn by Sand y, Oregon's own Dan Hewitt on his Honda tuml.>d another holcshot in to a soil sample. Going from first to worst didn't pha se Storm, but instead it fired him up , a nd he took off after the 13-rid er pack from 80 yards back. Passing was har d to do for e veryone bu t Sto rm as he blitzed throu gh the field and eventually stuck his Kawasaki back up front - an awesome effort.
