determine the overall on the day, Hager quickly
tried to put so me d ista nce o n Tesh. In his haste,
Hager made a h uge m ist ake through the new
rocker section, collectin g Tesh as well .

befor e Barnes co uld slip into the lead . Barn es
stay ed close for the mot a , waiting for a mistake
by Tesh , but none happened . Tesh held on fnr
th e second-mo te w in and the ov erall. Barn es
took second , Stran ge third, and Earls fourth
after ma king so me rather risky moves to make
u p for a bad start . Hager recovered for fifth.

As the ra ce entered the final stages, Bunch
go t th e b rea k h e was looking fo r and took
advan tage of his fello w Cobra rider' s fall and
headed to the checkered flag for the win . Alv ear
was also close enough to move into second. Jen nings recovered in time to take thi rd , with Harper and Hov is ro unding out the top five.

two, bu t Bunch had other ideas and he grabbed
th e lead . Jennings was in second, close beh ind,
w ith Max Heavner in tow . Two of the first-mot e
contenders, Alvear and Hovi s, were mis sin g d ue
to bike problems.
Bunch went on to win the second moto and the
overall. Jennings stayed dose, garnering second,
with Harper taking the final podiu m position.

Some 270 rid ers turned out for the first day of
Moreland 's traditio nal three-day Memorial Day
weekend. Th e track and gr ounds wer e prepped
to p erfe ct ion and the w e ath er was g reat.
Campers and tents w ere seen a ll aro u nd , as
many racers a nd th eir kin ca m ped ou t for the
lon g weekend.
Joey Mun ger of Bay City, Michigan , took his
KTM to the top of the lead er board in the Ove r
30 class. Kenneth Rabideery followed Mun ger
hom e o n his Kawasaki to tak e seco nd. Fourt h in
the Over 30 a nd second in the Ov er 35 class was
