Much experimentation was utiliied in the Castrol Honda p~ over practice. with Colin Edwards seeking out a better setup all weekend . "It's
taken us quite a whJ1e to get the whole bike set up for Misano." Edwards
said. "We started off with forks which were way too hard and I was running into corners ( 00 fast . Now we're using a lighter spring in the forks·
and I'm not running in so deep. Before Misano. I've been able to dlve in
and out of comers comfortably, but this race track is different from anywhere else we've been allyear.- His words were to ring very true on Sunday. when the consistently competitive Edwards struggled in both races, .

gring oil debacle from some of.his colleagues. "I thought it was bad
the way they handled it an. and I feel sony for guys like l..avi Ia. who feD
when there were no Oil flags. But if I crashed when the oil flags were out,
then..: That·s why I waS taking a tighter hne in the comer. to keep a--NWy
from any oil that may be there."
Corn Edwards. particularly vociferous in his attack in the organization
at the Nurburgring, was equally sca thing about the wa(er-on·the-track
episode during the second timed session. "I said to them at the Thursday
press conference here in Misano that it was about time they got their
heads out of their asses and organized a meeting properly," he said.
-Here we are on Sunday with .zater all over the track. "
