Lotus Tours has announced that a formal agreement has been signed with the U.S. Ducati importer, Ducati North America, and the u.s. dealership network to market and operate a fly/buy/ride European delivery program. The new program will sell U.S. and California-5pec bikes at U.S. manufacturer's suggested retail prices and includes a $600 gift of Ducati Performance Parts and/or Ducati Gear for all factory delivery bikes picked up in Bologna, Ita!y. The 1997 title winner made no mistakes in qualifying for the final with a combina'tion of fast starting and determination, coming frqm the back, but he was forced to play second fiddle to Polish ace Tomasz Gollob (right) on a wet and miserable night. Gollob started with a second place behind Hancock in beat 13, but he produced the goods when it mattered most by gaining revenge over the American in the final. Sweden's Jimmy Nilsen was the favorite going into the final after winning all of his qualifying rides, but conditions were changing so fast with the rain pouring down that it meant anything could happen. And it did, as Nilsen elected to take the inside gate in the final, leaving Hancock off gate two, Australia's Jason Crump off three and Gollob off the outside. Gollob made a dream start and swept around his rivals to pull clear and secure the victory, which will give him confidence for the next five rounds throughout Europe this summer.
