Cary Buck's-owned Sprint, finishing seventh over Terry Sage and Mike Yarn, with Mashburn and Filice completing the field. Matt Gomez Jr. topped the 80cc Invitational after Stewart Barber had some mechanical misfortune, with Frankie Lane finishing second. Rod Spencer topped the XRIOO class with relative ease over Kenny Weddingfeld and Tony Alves. Paul Iwanaga finished fourth over Jeff Gabbhart and Eric Carrillo, while Anthony Giammanco was seventh on an ex-Jeff Haney ride. Bobby Cunnington had an excellent night. winning the Z50 spokeless race over former MX racer Steve Arena and Robbie Cadwallader. Cunnington also took a fourth in the Legends event and fourth in the Pro 600. Rob Damron won the Pro 600 event on his L&R/San Jose Yamaha-backed Husaberg de pite four different starts; Brett Landes crashed and caused three of the four red flags. Landes, second in the Grand National series after Rorida, hadn't decided to race until the last minute, and despite a few second thoughts, he was quite focused and did an admirable-job in taking his Audivox-sponsored racer to the second po ition. Steve Johnson was third, with Matt Proto fourth over Paul "Corky" Bergstrom and John Hlebo III. ew old-timer Fred Falteraack finished eighth over a hurting Jessie Kreling and Paul Iwanaga. Bob McDonnell did a fine job in taking the top spot in the Vintage 250cc class over Matt Proto and Matt Gomez, with Rick Hocking fourth over John Proto. Ronnie Brown was tops in' the Pro 600cc Trophy race, with Jimmy Sanchez second and Kevin Bricker third. Sanchez had a tough time in the 600cc Pro show when Landes made a great pass on th.e outside and, trying to save the line, exited the track in a big way.
