Brent Shaw stalled his bike in a deep rut and
Bobby Southard fell in the rut behind him. Both
riders watched as their entire class passed them
before they could get started again. By the end
of the first lap, Southard had moved up to ruth
and Shaw had moved up to sixth. On the next
lap, Southard and Shaw each moved up one
position, and it was at that point that things got
a little wild. Oliver Benetis went from sixth to
fourth, and Dana Wright moved back from second in class to sixth. David Koontz and
Southard got in the mix as well. The entiTe class
moved back and forth until the last lap, when
Koontz took the lead. Just when it looked like
the class win was sewn up, Koontz dropped out
of the race, handing the win to Spencer.
Southard continued his move forward to finish
second, and Shaw finished third. Wright found
his second wind and moved from seventh at the
start of the last lap to finish fourth. Rounding
out the top five was Benetis.
Cameron Ishmael smoked the Pee Wee 50cc
Expert class. Joshua Hess and Ryan Anders, 00
the other hand, had one h(.'Ck of a race, switching positions several times throughout the race,
with Hess taking second and Anders taking
third. Christian Vowell took fourth and Kyle
Owens rounded out the top five.
