away from the field. Nick Bean did not sfart
mOIO one, but in mota two he was in contention with Jewell, Archuleta and Thor/Dunlop-sponsored Mathew Mebane for a top-five
finish in moto two. Railing the circuH in tight
fonnation and blazing the whoops three wide,
Jewell feU victim to Bean, who took second,
and then succumbed to pressure from Archule-
ta, who took third. Stroud sailed over the 20foot-high linish-line jump with a five-second
cushion for the over<111, as Bean, Archuleta,
SOcc Shaft class. Robbins came out hard
in the deep sand and swept both motos.
Trevor Barrett and Dal Hall Jr. kept him
honest the entire time.
Cobra-mounted Robbins came out blazing in the SOcc (4-6) class and again reeled
off two moto wins. Fellow KIM riders Seth
Quesinberry and Kody Duke were waiting
in the wings for a mistake from Robbins,
but the Cobra rider did not falter.
Joshua Schmitt took his first win of
the day in the 60cc (10-11) class. Schmitt
outgunned the competition and was
perfect in both motos. Kawasaki riders
Clay Willett and Jordan White gave
chase both times out but could not
maintain Schmitt's pace.
Yamaha-mounted Schmitt ripped off
double moto wins for his second championship on the day in the Junior Mini
class. Kawasaki rider Tyler Bright was
poised in the number-two position in
both motos. However, Schmitt would
not give Bright any chances to get by,
riding smooth and calculated on the
rough track. Geoffrey Nance went 3-5
on the day to take third.
