lessio "Chicco" Chiodi had no
answer to Claudio Federici in

125cc MX GP, but the champion still had
the last laugh with yet another GP win the 20th of his career - after the challenger fell off three times in race two.'
After finishing second to Federici in
the first moto, Chiodi took full advantage of Federici' 5 problems in the second
moto to come away the moto win and,
with it, the overall victory. After winning both motos in the series opener in
France, Chiodi now has three moto wins
under his belt and a modest 12-point
series lead over Federici.
Rounding out the top five overall at
Cingoli were American Mike Brown and
French riders Luigi Seguy and Johnny
Aubert.

Vohland (in 1996) each crashed out of
the series while leading their respective
World Championship Series, while
Trampas Parker had a sig·nificant
mechanical DNF there when he lost the
500cc crown in 1995. But today, Brown
well and truly laid that jinx to rest with
his best-ever GP result: third overall via
