AMA/Checkered Flag Productions Arenacross Rouftd 13 Moore takes charge • By Clay Light PRINEVILLE, OR, MAR. 12-13 an Moore carted off the lion's share of the .cash payoff a t the final round of the AMA/C.\leckered Flag Productions National Arenacross Series with a two-class sw:eep of both nights of racing at the Crook County Fairgrounds' Exposition Arena. Riding a Sports Cycle/ Xtremebacked Suzuki, Moore was nothing less than spectacular in his two 125cc and two 250cc main-event victories throughout two nights of racing. Things did not start off quite so good for Moore, as Todd Fletcher handed Moore a loss - the only ·such occurrence of the weekend - in 125cc qualifying on Friday night. With the lure of big money on the line, Moore rebounded quickly in Friday's 125cc Pro final to trail SMP's Justin Homan on the opening lap of the main event. Moore overtook Homan, the local favorite, to take possession of the lead - one he would not relinquish. D The battle for second went to the finish, resulting in Homan netting tile position from fletcher, who was followed by Cody Taylor and Walter Campbell. Moore quickly got out front in the 250cc Pro final, leading Fletcher and Homan, who once again provided all of the action behind Moore, who opened up another of his untouchable leads. Fletcher, riding a Kawasaki, seemingly controlled the numbertwo spot, but he lost out on the last lap to Homan after getting out of shape in the rugged whoop section. "Man, that mistake just cost me $150 bucks," Fletcher said. "1 screwed up in the whoops with the flag in sight and Justin got by me big." On Saturday night, Moore won both of his qualifiers to take the top pick on the starting line in the Pro main events, using the position to launch out ahead of the field in the 125cc Pro main. Campbell put his Honda into second, close behind Moore, in what was Campbell's best performance of the weekend. Campbell, however, lost his composure in the tricky whoop section and then lost a position to Homan. Homan, in turn, also fell victim to the Dan Moore won four Pro main events during 1Y{0 consecutive nights of arenacross action in Prineville, Oregon. course, moving Fletcher into second· at the finish, well behind Moore but ahead of Campbell, Taylor and Homan, who remounted quickly enough to salvage fifth. en en en "C c.. « 41
