Round 7: Georgia Dome TOYOTA TRUCKSITHORIPARTS UNLIMITED AMA By Henny Ra Abrams Photos by Frank Hoppen ATLANTA, GA, FEB. 20 ith the largest crowd this season cheering him on, MaLda/Chaparral/Yamaha's Jeremy McGrath rose to the occasion, riding an intelligent and mistake-free race on a demanding track that claimed many of 111, competitors. The win, McGrath's second of the year, came before a crowd of 60,183 that watched the five-time and defending AMA Supercross Champion master the packed-clay track on the floor of the Georgia Dome in round even of the AMA U.s. upercross Series. It wasn't so much that he was that much faster Ii than everyone else, but rather it was his !8 ability to gate well and set the pace up front that Jed to his victory.
