If lIOU're Iuckll. lIOU might get Hennll RfJberts to sign itl 250cc main, followed by Antunez, Palmer and Jones. Palmer dived inside of Antunez in turn two to take over second. Stephenson held the point for a strong seven laps until he rolled the big double. Palmer had the drive and jumped into the lead over Stephenson. At the same time, Jones motored by Antunez for third. Jones then block-passed his way by Stephenson a lap later for second, as Palmer had already made some distance on the pack. As the halfway flags flew, Palmer had several seconds on Jones, Stephenson was holding third, and fourthplaced Antunez was being pressured by Willoh. Willch ended up passing Antunez a few laps later for fourth, and he set his sights on Stephenson. Palmer was riding with a flat tire (due to the rock-strewn course) with a couple of laps remaining, but he had a comfortable cushion over Jones. Palmer crossed the line for his eighth win of the year, followed by Jones and Stephenson, who held off the advances of Willoh. Willoh finished fourth, followed by Protel/O'Neal/PJ1's Jim eese, who started eighth. Wilson finished sixth again after missing most of the series so far, and Antunez faded to seventh after a much-improved start. "I got by Denny early and tried to check out," Palmer said of the win. "I was pinning it during the middle of the race so 1 could relax towards the end." Jones was happy with second and said: "Cliff Palmer beat me. I'm not too upset!" eN Baltimore Arena Baltimore, Maryland Results: January 22-23, 1999 (Rounds 17 and 1Bof 34) Friday 125 PRO (IS riders. 16 laps); 1. Buddy Antunez (Suz); 2. Greg Rand (Kaw); 3.
