Edmondson vs.

Having been an AMA
member and professional racer for some
30-odd years, I am
upset to find out that
Roger Edmondson has

questioning the goals
of Mr. Edmondson.
He ran a pretty
smooth operation and,
although the cash
awards for winning
races were small, I still
believed that he was
out to help the participants and their goals.

Go, go, Johnny 0'
My younger brother recently thrust
Cycle News into my hand, showing me
the picture of Johnny O'Mara in classic
style at (we think) Carlsbad. I was at
work and I couldn't waH to get home to
read "O'Mara: Part I."
.O'Mara's accounts of his racing
days brought back memories for my
brother Dan and myself. We grew up
in Sydney, Australia, and just used to
ogle and constantly read and reread of
those days in Motocross Action. Witnessing an O'Mara win at a National
led to a sick kind of worship of the
man.
Jim Felt says it right: Those days
were the best. Thanks, Johnny, for the
good read.
