"I was second in moto one, but in
moto two, I got hit and knocked down in
the first tu rn," Plo tts said. Wa lker narrowly avoided the pileu p.
Plotts regained points with a win over
Keith Johnson in the 12Scc A Modified
motos. Johnso n, who won moto one, said :
"I go t a good start behind Travis Elliott,
rode aggress ively and took the win."
In moto two, Walker took his time an d
picked off Johnson, Carsten and finally
Plotts on the final lap for the win.
Walker and Plotts shared moto wins
in the 2S0ccA Stock rnotos, but the Mod ified class settled the cham pionship. In the
first 2S0cc A Mo dified m o to , Plo tts
passed Kenny Yoho and was lead ing the
race w he n his KTM's rear spokes col lapsed. Plotts limped to 17th place while
Wa lker and Yoho battled for the win.
"I thou ght the swingarm had broken,"
Plotts said. " It was a terrib le feeling."
Plotts led the final 2S0cc Modified
moto all the way, earning th e 12Scc A
overall championship - but Yoho took the
ove ra ll for the class and Walker earn ed
t he Dunl op Silver Tire Award.
Mike Alessi controlled the final four
6Scc (7-8) motos and was a clear winner
for the cham pionship.
"I only had one bad rnoto, so next year
1 will be back after the Fox Bronze Boot
Award ," Alessi said .
Evvennou topped Goerke in both 6Scc
(7-11) motos. Goerk e responded with the
Modified -class win but fini shed th ree
points behind in the championship.
Layton and Milsaps raced to the final
flag for the 8Scc (7-11) championshi p .
Milsaps won the Stock class, but Layton
took the Mod ified-cl ass win and the
championship .
"I wou ldn 't be here except for the MiIsaps," Layto n said. "They brought one of
ou r bikes back here from Loretta Lynn's
so that we cou ld fly in from California.
Davi is a good friend and we have a good
time racing together ."
BSY Racing-backed Donnie McGourty
topped the 8Scc (12-13) Stock class and
was second to Gene Stull in the Modified
Class. Edgardo Rojas took the title back to
Pue rto Rico with a 2-3 finish .
Morais , meanwhile, went on to a clean
swee p via two more motocross victories.

Chase Reed and Bonds split 12Scc (1215) class wins. Reed pushed hard all week
to end the event with the third-highest
overall score behind Riddl e and Walker.

motos, bu t Jerry Sales eap1ed the champions hip.
