No t fa r behind Ross was a hard -charging Kendall Dennis. Kyle Renkenberger ran th ird for the duration. Tim Weiga nd , who gated in Sl.'COnd a nd immed iately sta rted hou nding Barker , was followed by Chris Thompson , Chris Elliott and Rob Hop kin s. Weigand used a block-pa ss on Ba rker just af ter the FNW Tower o n lap one to steal th e lead . Deberna rdi ga ted just insid e the top 10 and was alread y up to fifth behind Elliott after one circu it of the sand track. Weigand put a cou ple of seco nds on Bark er, wh o wa s c o m in g u nd e r p re ss u re fr o m Debern ardi by lap three.
