"I knew I had to do it in the right-banders," I Yarrow said of his strategy. H knew sooner or L ter she wa s going to slip , and I had to ju mp a righ t in." Despi te losinga close race, DiSalvo had the utmost pra ise for her nem esis. "Tha t was awe some," DiSalvo sa id . "He was a heck of a rider. He came aro u nd me in the heat race, and I knew I wo uld have some competition in the main. I made one little mistake and he got right by me." Yarrow returned in the Vet IT main , chasing early lea ders Rob McDonnell an d John Pro to befo re nippi ng McDon nell go ing into the tree tum and Proto coming out. Yarrow rod e a perfeet race and was never seri ously cha llenged for the win. Toby Jor gensen chased DiSalvo in the Open A short-track finale for the better part of the race before ge tting by with a gu tsy pass. Jorgensen imm ed iately open ed up a huge lead wit hin seconds a nd then wo n by nearly a straigh taway. Although he placed just ou ts ide of the money pos itions , new expert Ma rty Weisler finis hed a well-deserved filth a nd showed great skill and potential. Joe He rnandez con tinued his d ominan ce in the nocc combined Band C class and wo n overall in front of riva l Bob by Fang on both the short tr a ck a nd TT.
