Del Mar Fairgrounds SHOW AMA VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE DAYS W S E TAND CONCOURS 0' ELEGANCE -By Bi ll Bagnall Photos by Andrea Phillips DELMAR,CA,OCT .lll-lI icking off the weekend 'of October 10 and 11, which featured the K&N Filters Del _ _ Mar Mile AMA Grand National finale on Sunday, was a da ylong Concours d' Elegance on the infield of the famed Del Mar Fairgrounds race track. Previously hosted by th e San Diego Antique Motorcycle Club, this year Agajanian Presen ts Inc. took over the reins, which tied in nicelv wi th the promo tion of the Su nday speed fest. The infield was ab laze w ith colors a nd chrome , as several hu ndred motorcycles were on displ ay. There were a lso severa l vendors o ffe ri ng eno ug h p art s a nd accessories to build qui te a few motorcycles. And th e en tire weekend was blessed with ideal weather. Early rid ers were welcomed a t the Trailblazers booth, which was managed by Barba ra and Andrea Phillips and friends, and the highlight of their day was the induction ceremony of about two dozen motorcycl ing legends into the A mer ican Motorcycle Heritage Foun da tio n's H all of Fa me . A MHF chai rman Don Emde hosted the presentat ion s, so me' of w h ich w ere po s thumou s. A total of 100 ride rs have been in duct ed in the firs t yea r of th e progra m. If yo u weren't there, yo u m issed a great day of true motorcycling heritage. He re are bu t a few photos that are representative of what has come to be a trul y vintage experience.
