Following the race, Blackwell co rnmerited that he has dedicated the major ity of his season to the Na tional Hare Scrambles Cha m p io ns hi p, but tha t he in tends to be a conte nder at the Ironman GN CC fin al ro u nd in Craw fordsville, Ind ia na, o n Octobe r 25. A t tha t ra ce, Blackw ell says he is going for the win at any cost. "I have a ll winter to h eal if something hap pen s," he said, "so I plan to put the ham mer down and go for it." Smith, however, is focusing on the In t ern ati on a l Six Da y En d uro n e xt mo nth. "I will be at the Ironrnan," he said . "I believe I have wo n that event in the last few yea rs." Smith wants to pu t his Suzuk i in the w in ne rs' circle o ne mo re time bef ore head ing to Aus tralia for the ISDE. T h e top n on-P ro -cla s s rid e r was Ohio 's Heath Bennett , who also came in nin th overa ll in the fina l resul ts. Co nnecticut' s Dave Gunn pil oted his KTM to the top spo t in the O pen A class, and O hio's o w n St e ven Gra v e s w a s t he leader in th e 200cc A class when th ey crossed the finish line.
