The starts of both of his mo tos had plenty of roo m for improvement, but he was up to the task and he picked off all in his wa y. Ho nda pilots Tim Meyer and Ross Friesen mad e th ings difficult fo r him, but in the en d Murphy spanked them. Friesen was a busy rider, as he a lso wo n a very d iffi cult Vet B ra ce aga ins t Kawa sakimounted Mark Win n. Winn won the first mot o w ith a fat hules hot. b ut former Pro Friesen ran him d own in th e second mot o even th ough he claimed to be tired.
