we nt to fos ter with two top-five moto places,
and Larso n ea rned the final podium spo t after
go ing 6-3 in th e mot es. Womack moved up in
the premier Northern California Fall Mot ocros s
Series sta nd ings with his win ton ight and, with
three o f th e five ro u nds in the books, he is in a
prime posi tio n to take the series title.

The fourth spo l wa s occupied by Chris Hughey
on his TM , whil e KTM rider Keith Stoner filled
out the top five. Whe n the pack roa red out of the
bac k ca nyo n , it wa s clea r tha t this mota wa s
going to be a tw o-m an ra ce. Jackso n and Harada, themwlves onl y separa ted by a bike length,
had put abou t five seconds on the rest of the riders during the first lap . For the first half of the

after his bobble, bu t he had losl aboul 10 seconds to Ha rada. Meanwhile, the bat tle for third

Dubois a nd wa s lookin g for a way aro u nd to
take ove r the third spot. Whe n the two-lap signa l came out, Jack.o.on had closed to wi thin five
secon d s of Harada, bu t then he clicked it into
cruise mod e.
"I crashed in the back," sa id Jackson. "I saw
that I was catching him (Ha rada) a little bit, but
then I deci ded to rest a nd take my cha nces in the
second mota."
When the che ckers came out at the end of
the mot o, it wa s Harada taking the moto win.

At the start of molo two, Jackso n aga in shol
hi s Kawa saki out fro nt a nd gra bbed anot her
holesh ot. Hu gh ey shoved his TM into second ,
whil e Dubois gated third . Yamaha rider Zac h
Lindborg was fou rth, a n d Ston er he ld d own
fifth. Harada had suffered a horrible start - dead
last - but pa ssed rid ers in bunches, and he was
sixlh by the end of lap one. Out front, Jackson set
a fas t pace a nd he op ened up a three-second
ad vantage on Dubois, who had moved around
H ughey to take over second . By th e third lap,
Harada had moved up to th ird and was looking
for a way around Dubois. Just as the ha lfway signa l came out, Harada passed Dubois and set sail
for Jackson and the lead . As the remaining laps
clicked away, Harada inched closer and closer to
Ja ckson. When the two-la p signal was given,
Harada wa s wit hin two bike lengths of Jackson,
and he began to apply pressure on the lead er.
Once again , the crashi ng bug bit Jackson, as he
fe ll o ff in the trick y swit ch bac k section and
turned the lead over 10 Harada. By the lime Jackso n was able to rem ount, Dubois also went by
and took over the seco nd positi on . By the moto's
end, Harada had again prevailed to lake the win.
Duboi s rode in for second, while Jackso n limped
in, literall y, for lhird . On the day, Harada's perfeet I-I sco res ea rned him the overall victory.
Dubois' 3-2 fini sh es garn ered hi m th e seco nd
spot, whil e Jackso n's 2-3lally put him in third.

T.J. Beazell took the win in the Auto (4-8) divi sion over a tou gh field of lalented young speedsters . Bea zell also com peted at Trojan for the full
fou r-day Lab or Da y event , ta k in g hom e lhe
overall in this division an d a grea t wall clock as
a me men to.
The opening moto of th e Auto (4-8) contest
saw the track in excellen l shape for the drop of the
. gate. Shelby Landi s on his Hou.w of Honda PW
ripped th e hol es ho t o ver Bea zell and Di an
Klin ger. Things went awa y for Landis on the
opening lap, however, when he hit a hol e and
went over the bars. Landis would card a DNF lhis
moto, but he wo uld be back for the second round.
Beaze ll took over th e lea d and was never
serious ly cha llenged by the IS-rider field . Dian
Klinger, on her Rea d s Racin g / R&D Vamaha,
had som e mechanical pro blems late in the moto
while running second. Robert Johnson took over
the number- three spol by go ing through th e
infield rockers more quickly than Jacob Renkenberger on the third lap, and the field wa s set for
the finis h - Beaze ll took the win, Klinger nursed
her sic k PW in for se co nd, Johnson came in
th ir d , Renkenberger was fou rth, a nd Ro be rt
Johnson of Fo rt Way ne, Ind iana, b rough t it
home for fifth.

Klinger. Landis ha d a qui ck first-corner get-o ff
but he remo unted and set out after the field.
Beazel l held the lead on th e firs t lap, w ith
pressure from both Smith and Klinger, but landis was hot on the opening lap , passin g his wa y
all the way up to the fourt h spol. Landis got by
Klinger in th e w hoops for th ird on the seco nd
lap and continued his march to the front.

pace, pu lling away from the field while com pleting his seco nd circui t. Landis took over the second spot, pa ssing Smith at the finish line. Joh nson was. fourth, wi th Renkenberger fifth. Dian
Klinger ha d a problem in the Superbowl a rea ,
slidi ng out but quickly remounting a nd cha rg~
ing after the lead ers.
Beazell had opene d up a huge lead by the
time Landis had m oved into the second sp ot,
but Land is was riding the wheels off his Vamaha. Klinger was also on the gas , getting back into
the thi rd spo t by the white flag.

Beazell held off the charge of L. ndi s at lhe
checkers an d took the win , to the delight of the
chee ring spectators pa cked on the hillsid e. The
crowd on hand gave Shelby and lhe entire Auto
fieJd a wann welcom e at the fmis h line. Klinger
bro ugh t her tired PW in for the third spo t.
