faster," Large sa id. "When I came out of
the hol e, m y foot peg d idn' t go a ll th e

abo u t ge tting m y foot back on the peg
tha n the rid e. So we shou ld be able to go
faster, too."

Dresser was af ter his seco nd w in of
the yea r, and he let it all go on the bottom of the hill. He go t sideways off the
ra m p and h is foot slip ped o ff th e peg
over the d ouble, bu t he was d etermined
to hol d it on and he mad e it pa s t the
ligh t and in to the lead w it h a tim e /of
6.422.
"I wish I could have go tten a straight
ride th rough ," Dresser said . "Both of my
rid es were crooked. I was fort u na te to
stay upright. Still, I almos t wo n it."
W ith Petty o u t, Wa ll a ce Fowle r
rolled the bottom and then cra nked it on
for a sixth-overa ll time of 9.507. Man y
other com pe titors we ren' t ab le to pu t in
a seco nd ride; including Templeton.
" I took the nice, easv route on the
first ride and the bike ran phenomena lly," Tem ple to n said. "I go t a clean rid e
in, but I lost my front brake at the top of
the hill and go t major air. When I lan ded , it busted so me thing in the igni tion we got no fire for the seco nd round . I' m
happy w ith third , thou gh."
DeBusk took advantage of the ot her
co m p etito rs ' problems to climb u p to
fourth overall. Once aga in, he go t kicked
off th e seat ove r the firs t jump and he
actually land ed with his left foot on the
sea t. "Su per Boo ne " never backed off
and he finished wi th a 7.278-second ru n .

agai n," Debusk sa id . "On' the second
ride, I rolled the bo ttom to set myself up
for the d ouble over the low pa rt of the
hill an d my feet got kicked up again."

box and he lined up for the d oubl e perfectly. Just 6.158 seconds lat er, he had
his third straig ht win .
"I was a li ttle su rp rised we took it
away from Steve ther e - that seco nd ride
he made was pretty good ," Large sai d.
"It looked like a lot of people were getting kicked over the jump, so I made m y
m ind up th a t if I go t sideways, I wa s
go ing to lay low and take second place. I
came up the firs t one, it landed straight
and I let it go; then the bike di d the rest.
