All 19 riders in the You th Beginner class got o il th e line clea n ly as G riego gr a bbed the holeshot and put his Suzuki into the lead , with Rivera Concre te / Fast Freddie-s ponsored Cody Rivera, Cycles of Boulder Kawasa ki pilot Peter Freas and Honda-mou nted Cody Boyd following. Four back-to-back do u bles o ffered rid er s a technical cha llenge as the front-runners opted to d ouble through the section. while others opted to roll all eight jumps. Within a lap and a hall, Kyle . Schaller motored his Kawasaki from the middl e 01 the pac k up to second. Griego main tained a In-second lead until his front end wa shed out in a soft corne r following the tricky jump section . Losing o n ly a few seconds, Griego q u ickl y remounted a nd held on to his lead o ver Schaffer. The same comer w here Griego went down also collecte Boyd. who was in third , a lap later. d Griego withstood the attack from Schaller (who cut the gap to three seconds) and captured th e Win. Rivera, on a Honda. cruised in third. Freas, who we nt do wn thr ee times , managed to climb back up to lourth. Ho nda rider Josep h ret. teTS rounded out the top five. Rivera stole the holeshot in mota two, with Freas emergi ng fro m the firs t comer in second alon gside Griego, who dived to the inside and outbraked Freas into th e nex t corner for the position. The three front-runners entered the rh)'!:hm section side by side, wi th Griego exiting in"'the lead. Frea s made the pa ss o n Rivera s tick and kept within pouncing di stance o f the new leader, Griego . Rivera, Boyd and Matt Hilburger rounded the circui t bar to bar in a fierce bat tle lor third. As the Honda freight train crossed the checkers, it was Boyd, Hilburger and Rivera. Griego managed to lend oil Freas for the overa ll win, while Frea s' 4·2 collec ted second .
