Stret ch got used to his new KX in a big way
as he un co rked it and tu rned in.an incredibly
fast 1374. Colbe rt kept his Yamaha on the gas
and drop ped 1584.
The speed average to the 2.J-mile check was
the sa me - 16.6 mp h - bu t after that, it wa s WFO
fo r th e la st 19 mil es. A few s pecta to rs o n th e

Th e last 3-mile section to the finish tu rn ed to
tr ail a n d c u t ba ck ac ross th e cre e k, G r a y
dropped a po int a t the finish check, giving him
the overall w in. Seco nd o verall and the A-class
win ner, Mark Stevens, had his KX flying as he
w as the on ly rider to zero the la st check, N ext
came KX-m ou nted Brigh t w ith a se as o n-be s t
third o vera ll. Yamaha ride r Colbert took fourth
and KTM rid er Dax Brown rounded ou t the top
five.

Stre tc h . Hi s second tes t sco re had him in the
hunt for the win before he came up sho rt on fuel
jus t a few miles before the finish. Fortu na tely,
Stretch had a better side 10 his da y. as he won
the Super Senior class.

the day's high ligh ts includ ed the two wins posted by Carlton Palmer II, which included wins in
