made his play for the runner-up position. Mayfield applied the pressure but couldn't quite get
around the stubborn Aguilar. At the checkered
flag, the final order waS Damron, Aguilar and
Mayfield.
"I was trying to be pretty consistent," reflected Aguilar. "Those guys were pretty tough out
there tonight. J was just trying to hold my line."
Damron, however, appeared. to be confident
that the victory was imminent.
"That's what happens when you're on the
fastest bike on the track," said Damron after the
race. "I had the setup a little soft and actually
ran the bike a little short SO it wouJdn't send me
wide when it began to hook up. The forks were
bent a little after my wreck, but overall the bike
ran really good."
