" *" I heartily agree with Kit Palmer (Issue #21, June 3) that dirt motorcycling is a ~at fanmy recreation. A dirt bike outing IS a lot of fun for my family, with an added bonus when made into a camping trip. It is also a great self-esteem booster for kids, especially daughters. I get a kick hearing about the stunned disbelief that occurs when my daughters show snapshots of their dirt bike rides to boy classmates. Regarding bikes, I've found my '96 YZ80 is a !Teat bike for me when riding WIth my kids. I can ride lower, at their level, and with them on the little mini tracks. It has plenty of power to pull me, even when my son is on back (250 Ibs. total), and it is great fun to flick around.
