respectively. Faria was the fastest away at the start and he moved up behind Bennett, who was quickly deposited to the back of the pack. It took Faria until the end of the fourth lap to reel in Ferris, who was also passed by Sisemore and Bast before the checkered flag came out. Once Faria passed erris and the white flag, he rode unchallenged to the win on his Phil Roome/ Arai/Off Beat Productions-supported GM. Kossuth, who was riding despite a nasty spill with Matt Becker in their Handicap semi, finished fifth, and Bennett took fourth. Reaults 5CR; 1. Charlie Venegas (CM>; 2. Bart Bast Oaw); 3. Rassa and Orr storm Antietam Motocross By Jerry Athey HAGERSTOWN, MD, MAY 17 Kemp's Racing's lay Rassa and )T Motorsports' Ted Orr were the big winners at the )T Motorsports Top Gun Shootout, round five of the Dis- trict 7 Expert Motocross Series, held at Antietam Motorsport Park. The Honda-mounted Rassa put togeU,er six perfect motos to take the overall wins in the 250cc A, Open A and Over 25 A classes, while Orr, who is the djstrict's reigning Open A and Vet A champion, charged to the overall win in the Vet A class with a convincing ,-, ride aboard his Suzuki. The Open A-class action began with Rassa blasting to the first-moto holeshot, chased by Brian Sullivan on a big-bore-kitted ]T Motorsports Suzuki, Diamond Motorsports Yamaha riders Joseph Schueler and Chris Brown, and Chad Gouchenour, aboard a trick Honda XR. Rassa used the clear track to his advantage and immediately started to pull away from the balUe for second that was developing between Sullivan, Schueler and Brown. With Rassa out front, Schueler moved by Sullivan for the runner-up position. Disaster struck Brown at the halfway point when the YZ400F rider stalled and had trouble restarting his bike, surrendering the fourth spot to Gouchenour, who would also' eventually pass Sullivan on the last lap to t:ake an impressive third. Rassa sailed to the mota win, followed by Schueler, Gouchenour, Sullivan, and Kawasaki rider Joseph Bartlett, who made an aggressive charge into the top five late in the mota. Ra sa asserted his dominance in the second moto as he again charged to the holeshot, thjs time followed by Sullivan and Fredericktown Yamaha's Ian Riley. Rassa went on to take the uncontested moto victory and the overall win. Sullivan was second overall with his strong and consistent ride, followed by Joseph and Chris Schueler. Riley, in his first race appearance o( the season, rounded out the top five overall As the title sponsor of the event, ]T Motorsports' owner, Orr, took it upon himself to carry the torch (or his shop, as the former aMonal MX pro and defending District 7 champion blasted to a perfect 1-' score in the Vet A class. Yamaha-mounted Todd Stith was solid in second, taking th.e runner-up position in each moto. Third overall went to Suzuki speedster Pat McCormick, followed by consistent rides from David Bittner, also aboard a Suzuki, and Hondamounted Bryan Miner.
