,my hair," Bostrom said. "I took a couple
of laps on the 600 and I was pretty slow.
I got on the superbike and things loosened up. Once you get a little bit of
adrenaline going, you forget about that
stuff. It didn't bother me at all. I rode
really good and if I'd finished second, I
wouldn't have blamed it on my wrist - it
wasn't a problem."
What wa al 0 ,cot a problem was
where he sat starting the final lap.
"I knew we were in the best spot,
right there," Bostrom said. "Actually,
when I was second, I thought if 1 didn't
win, I mu t be crashing or something.
The guy in second has a real good draft
and 1drafted by Steve (Crevier) and the
Honda ran real good. 1 broke late into
the corner, and from there it's really
hard to mj'lke a pass. 1 knew Steve
would have a tough time getting me
before the finish."
Yates crossed the line in fourth, making up from his poor starting position to
beat Pridmore, who had distance on
Roberts and Rapp.
Pridmore's young teammate, Nicky
Hayden, had worked his way to as high
as fourth, but an off-track excursion in
the chicane cost him any chance of finishing there. He ended up 11th, just in
front of Kawasaki Team Green's Chris
Carr.
