Tim Baker was the fastest off the start as he roosted around the left-hander into the creek section, with Graber in tow. The Baker-Graber express remained intact throughout lap one. As Baker started the motocross track on lap two, Graber motored by and never looked back. "It seemed like Graber was just cruising on the first lap," Ba.ker said. "Then, when I came out of the creek onto the motocross track, he got by me. There wasn't much I could do: claimed Baker. "Dallas Mayer caught up with me a couple of laps later from a second-row start and we diced back and forth for a little while. It was a good race." Mayer put in a good ride after a multiplekick tart put him last into the creek. Mayer blitzed his way to the front of the Vet class and was leading Graber on adjusted time on laps five and six of the eight-lap race. Graber clicked it up a notch, though, and took overall honors with 43 seconds to spare. Ron Dilback led the 201cc C class for three laps before surrendering the lead to Rober! Shepard just before the haUway point. Todd Rowland raced pasl Dilback for second in class. "The heat was starting to rise, so I figured I had better conserve some energy for the lini h," Dilback said about his desceot from first to third. "Irs frustrating. because r felt like I could have kept the pace (with Shepard and Rowland), but I played it safe." Chris Hutson was the top Four-Stroke for five laps, but Shawn Taylor thumped his way into the lead with two laps to go to take the win.
