"' saw Russell had caught me, so I wicked it up and stayed on the gas, trying to ride smart and not throw it away," said Bozarth, who is sponsored by Husqvarna/KTM of Grisham, FMF and MSR. "It was very hard to pass out there in spots as we worked through Iappers. , couldn't have done it unless my bike performed flawlessly, which it did." Russell raced his Dave Russell-backed KTM to second overall but was a little frustrated at the finish. It seems that as the race was winding down, he began to take risks to get by Iappers and he endoed in a mud pit, which hindered his advance on Bozarth. Street stayed awake long enough after his grueling weekend to snare third overall and first Four-Stroke on his Johnson's Honda/l-90 Honda/FMF-backed XR. Motorcycle news will never be the same - you can access Cycle News Online anytime, day or night, on the World Wide Web at On a beautiful day in the Pocific Northwest, with perfect track conditions, Onalaska, Washington's Brad Hagseth was perfect as he won all four of his motos in the 125 and 250cc Pro classes. More than 480 riders rode the Washougal National track in another round of the Gold Star series. A large turnout from the Seattle area made for large classes and nearly full gates in many classes! Grayson Hart out of Portland, Oregon, pow: ered his new Yamaha YZ400F to the front of the 250cc Pro class, ahead of Hagseth, Hondamounted Paul Wynn, Don Bisceglia (also on a Honda), and Ron Tapia out of Bonney Lake, Washington. Hagseth and Wynn freight-trained around Hart and stretched out a lead, with Hagseth riding very loosely. Jason Mathews, also on a four-stroke Yamaha, displaced Tapia to get into the top five. Wynn tried to position himself to be able to make a last-lap move on the leader, Hagseth, but a slip-up in the whoops allowed Hagseth even more breathing room. Mathews bagged the second-moto holeshot, but Wynn and Hagseth pushed and elbowed !Jy him in the new infield section of the track and led up the hill. Meanwhile, Hart also passed Mathews to reach third, and Hagseth put his head down and charged to the rear fender of Wynn. Russell Chace, on a Yamaha, raced up to fifth place, followed by Tom York out of Port Orchard, Washington. Blitzing through the tough whoop section, Hagseth outdragged Wynn for the lead. Hagseth's National number 95 is well-deserved, as he clicked off the fastest lap times of the day. Wynn hung on for second, with Hart holding on for third. The 250cc lntermediate class saw Jason Parks pounding his Yamaha four-stroke ahead of Nick Foister on a Kawasaki and Yamaha-mounted Bret Cahors. Parks was large and in charge all day as he effortlessly cleared the triple into the Hillsboro Hoops from the inside line every time. Another stellar performance on the day was tumed in by·one of the fastest amateurs in the country, based on his results at the World Mini Grand Prix in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago: Mike Corder, out of Longview, Washington. Corder kept his Kawasakis at the front of every moto he raced. However, the last mota of the day didn't include him. liMy clutch went out," Longview said. "When I try to pull, there's nothing there!" That was an early birthday present for Garrett Carter and Mike Scheel. who battled in both motos. Scheel gathered his share of holeshots
