TM Strictly a one-off experimental, there are no plans to put a 360 1M into pr0duction. According to TM's Jury Simoncini, 1M intends to launch a 400cc foar-sboke'at the MIlan SI:low in 0ctober. The big-bore 1M weighs in at 233.2 pounds. VERTEMAn· WALTER BARTOLINI Only Walter BartoliJli has had a Vertemati on show this year. It is basically standard - the production model already features the beautiful one-piece swingarrn first seen in 1994. Marzocchi inverted forks replace the standard Paeoli units. The main problem is weight at 253 pounds it was easily the heaviest bike at the gate. 'I'he-engiDe is 493cc. RWJ HONDA· ROB HERRING British fans have already had plenty of opportunity to see the RWJ hybrid, but it attracted plenty of attention in the Mantova paddock as Continentals wanted to see how much cutting and welding Brian Wheeler had to do to fit the CR500 motor into the CR250 frame. It's a tight fit, but it does fit, and the handling - a concern for many before they saw it in action - is superb. Clearly the 2.08-gallon standard tank would not be sufficient for GPs, but RWJ has a variety of tanks, the most suitable being the 3.38-gallon plastic tank from America, which fits snugly around the radiator and within the cowling and doesn't hava a hump, either. At just 228.8 pounds and with a very much on-form "Fish" (Rob Herring) aboard, this is very much a potential GP winner, and one to keep tWlHtroke fans happy.
