Pretech is a British engineering company that specializes .in the custom manufacture of precision parts for Formula One and other top-level auto-racing ,teams. In,e list of factory race teams that ha ve fltilizf(l the talents of Pretech reads like ~he who's who of motor racing and includes Benetton, Penske, Arrows, Tyrell, Lotus, Torn Walkinshaw Racing, Nissan, etc. Pretech calipers are specifically designed for the intended application ,and are direct "bolt-on" replacements for the standard calipers, dispensing with the need for separa te carrier brackets. The caliper bodies and pistons are precision CNC-machined from billet HE30 aluminum (ISO 6082) and are assembled using high-quality stain1ess-steel fittings. A rigid design combined with very tight manufacturing tolerances helps eliminate flex and increase braking power and feel. Pretech calipers are available in machined or polished finish, or can be supplied anodized in a wide range of colors. They are supplied with high-performance brake pads to suit the application and are available for most popular sport bikes and Harley Davidsons for $800 a pair. SADDLE UP Fresh out of the Corbin workshop comes the Dual Touring Saddle for the 1998 Suzuki Intruder 1500, designed to provide the maximum amount of comfort combined with a classy vintage look. Richly tailored with genuine leather seating panels and ergonomically enginE~ered for maximum weight distribution, the saddle will also accept Corbin's removable backrests, which offer an additional 8.75 inches of adjustable, ·contoured support for the long haul. Both backrests can be installed and removed with ease. Corbin has also created a chrome "Y rail" that bolts up with the saddle system. Installation is said to be easy and straightforward and, to simplify installation even further, Corbin offers a chrome, billet thumbscrew for the rear mounting location.
