T
he 2020 Austrian MotoGP
will not be remembered
for Andrea Dovizioso's
(Ducati Team) resounding third
straight win at the Red Bull Ring
just days after announcing his
imminent divorce from Ducati.
Instead, it will be remembered
for one of the biggest crashes
in the history of the sport, one
in which, incredibly, no one was
seriously hurt.
The incident occurred on
lap nine, when Johann Zarco
(Esponsorama Racing Ducati)
drafted past the Petronas Sprinta
Yamaha of Franco Morbidelli
through the flat-out turn-two kink.
At close to 195 mph, the two
collided, sending both riders into
the gravel trap. Zarco's bike con-
tinued at pace, ripping through
the catch fencing and exploding
back onto the track, while Mor-
bidelli's Yamaha hurtled toward
the pack who were turning in for
the hairpin of turn three.
CHAOS AND CARNAGE
MotoGP experienced one of the most
chaotic races in recent memory while

win at the Red Bull Ring in Austria
