Lacey won the Over SO first round, led the first
two laps of the second moto, and decided that
second would be just fine behind George Smith.
A three-way tie (or second in the Over 40 class
was decided by Rick Dyer's combo of a 5-2 over
Bill Goldfoos' 4-3 and Jerry Winkelbauer's 3-4.
Matt Rohr did exactly that in both rounds of
the Open Twin class on his sporty Triu.mph.
with Ken Corpe second in both rounds. Clark
Sumner was tops in the intermediate class and
Pete Silva topped the Novice division over Bill
Rianda. Silva rides for free now that he is over
70 years old.
Doyle Cook had back-to-back wins in the
125cc Classic class but could only mount a third
in the ClilSSic 250cc division behind winner Rob
Poole and runner-up Joe McCoy. McCoy stole
the holcshot in the first moto on his 2S0cc
Cheney in front of Dick Mann's Goldsta:r and
held on for the win, but a bad start in the second
round combined with a boo·boo by "Buggs"
(Mann) gave Poole Ihe win. In that second moto,
Intermediate Frank Rodgers had the best round
and won the overall.
Mann came back to win both motDs of the
Premier Lightweight class over stunt man Gary
Davis and Peter Cruttenden. while Lynn Boyer
