Welch also won the 125cc A class on the day. main, raged to a four-moto sweep of the 125cc A and Over 25 A classes on his jT Motorsports Suzuki. . Welch began his onslaught on the District 7 series by taking the holeshot in the first 125cc A moto, followed closely by Joseph Schueler and Ronnie Miller. Welch went on to take the uncontested moto victory, ahead of a strong and steady ScI,ueler. National Pro Billy Schlag rolled in for third. dropping the fast-starting Miller to fourth. Suzuki rider Nathan Juergens rounded out the top five. The second 125cc A holeshot went to Kawasaki rider Pete Malyt followed closely by Juergens and Schueler, while Welch rounded the first tum in fifth. On the second lap, Welch and Juergens made their respective moves for the lead position as the pair simultaneously doubled past Malyj on Budds Creek's infamous "Big Gulp" downhill double jump! On the next lap, Welch flew past Juergens for the lead and never looked back, pulling out to a seven-second lead by the end of the mota. ScI'lag charged his way into second, followed by Malyj, Schueler and Juergens. Welch's overall win in the Over 25 A class would follow a similar pattern. After taking the holeshot and running away with the first-moto win over Jay Rassa, Jeff Grove, Michael Moore and Ted Orr, Welch found himselI having to once again play catch-up in the second moto. As the pack roared down the new high-speed start straight, it was KTM-mounted Brian Sullivan, the district's number-two Vet A rider, taking the holeshot, shadowed by the 5uzuki of Welch.
