side, bangin g bars and elbo w s all the way into
turn one. Wood s was firs t to make the turn and
cleared nearl y half of the wh oop section before
tou ch in g do wn, lea ving Ersc he n and Met calf
two to three bike lengt hs beh ind exiting the second tu m and launching over the catap ult jum p .
Wood s contin ued to s tretch h is lead o ver th e
field a nd a t the flag had p u lled a convincing
full-straightway lead ove r Metcalf and Erschen .
"I'm glad I got the holes hot on Nick (Met"" 10," Wood s said , "He is very fast on this stuff
and I' m not su re I could ha ve passed him. He
had some gr eat lines thro ugh the rockers and his
com er speed is aw esom e."

racing on the full track with the fast guys for the
first time . Cory Sibley had his Lem in overd rive,
first musclin g by Tut tle and then passin g Iovino
for seco nd , Sibley closed on Goodwin and the
tw o leaders no tched it up an d took off. For fou r
laps, it wa s great ba r-to-ba r action until Sibley
wi ped out on the d rop-off. Goodwin took the
easy win , Sibley recover ed for second , and newcomer Tuttle finished a stro ng third .

led the pack in to th e first turn in the second
moto. Iovino and Kegan Tuttle were figh ting for
the seco nd spot. Sibley was buried at the sta rt
but was flas hing past riders right an d left. He
ha d wo rke d hi s way up to seco nd in the firs t
ha lf-lap, Now h e had to ca tch the s trea king
Goodwin, Slowly, Sibley reeled him in. On the
fourth lap , Sibley passed Goodwin for the lead
in the Ca nyon. Good win retalia ted immed iately.

th e win by a bike length over Sibley in a racer's
race. Iovino finished a we ll-deserved thi rd , with
