TUF Racing /Pro Ci rcuit/Thor-backed Den n y Stephenson won his fi rs t two main events of the year at rounds 19 a nd 20 of th e Pac e-promoted PJl Na tional Are nacross Series . Stephenson won aboard his Honda during Friday and Sa tu rday's 250cc fi nals. A third pla ce fini sh in Saturd ay' s 125cc fin al made for Stephenson's best eve nt of the series . Teamma te Jeromy Buehl w as right up there as well. Buehl came across the finish line in second behind Stephenso n in both 250cc finals . "I hop e I can take' thi s m om entum into Den v er n e xt week," Buehl said . A seco n d in Frid a y ' s 125cc final capped off a go od weekend for Buehl , who celebrat ed his 25th birthday on Friday. . Points lead er Buddy Antunez had a forge tta ble weeke nd . Alt hough he won Friday's 125cc final, a fifth, a 10th and an 11th help ed runner-up Chad Ped erso n catch up a litt le .in the standings. Antunez leads Pe derson by 25 p oints going in to the final four events. FRIDAY A ntunez gra bbed t he s ta r t of th e 125cc fina l on his Primal Impulse/ Bill's Pipes-backed Suzu ki. Behind him was FMF / P ro A cti o n's Mike Jo nes a nd Nielsen/Lights peed's Jimmy Gaddis, in h is firs t ride ba ck from inj ury . Nielse n/Scott-bac ked Pederson was in 10th and Kawasaki of Carrollton's Oiff Palme r we n t down hard in the first turn. Palmer was hit by several riders and d id not return to the race. Buehl mo ved by Gaddis into third on lap two and was gunning for the lead. Ka w a saki of C arrollt on ' s G rayso n Goodman also got by Gadd is (who was su ffering fro m arm pump) several laps later into fourth. At th e halfway p oint of th e 16-la p race, An tunez was still in con trol, with Jon es in second . Buehl was all over the Kawasak i-moun ted Jones and was look ing to move into second . One lap lat er, Buehl moved by Jones throu gh the rocke rs a nd had h is sig h ts se t on le a der A n tu ne z . Pede rso n was u p to fift h b e h in d Stephe nso n, as the tw o h a d motored by Good man two laps earlier.
