red esigned flat -top piston complemented by a new
Power Jet carbure tor. A nd the i ~nit i on tim ing has

This year the RM250's slick-shifting transmission is
slicker still. A refined du tch increases d u rab ility. And
beefed -u p tran smi ssion components make it mo re

fron t and rear suspe nsio n sys tems . The co nve ntional,
tw in chamber ca rtrid ge- tvpe forks - a lrea dy renow ned as
t he most responsive units on the track - are lighter wi th
reduced friction . Th e rear suspension featu res il new
sw inga rm and linkage, and a larger -diamet er shock piston.
