moved a round the inside of Gra ves to take the
lead . Gra ves w as slo wed by one 01 the b ack markers a nd s u d denly Ad a ms h ad a bit 01
brea thin g room. Adams held on to his lead lor
the last two laps 01 the 12-lap race, taking the
victory, with Graves finishing second and Sorenso n crossing in third .

In the Tom Sera Racing Formula Two event,
Jac k Pleifer snagged the hol es ho t off the line
while Sorenson pow er ed in to second. As the
fi rs t Ja p clicked all, So ren so n edged up o n
Pleifer a nd was sitting in his dra lt down the
front straight. Rounding tum Jour on the second
la p, Soren son used h is n imb le Wor ld Sports
Imports-sponsored Yamaha TZ250 to full advantage as he we nt around the outside of Pfeifer to
ta ke th e lead . Meanwhile, Ke nt -Ku ni tsug u
em erged in third.

The top thr ee maintained their spots lor the
n ext six lap s in the lQ.lap eve nt. Ho we ver, on
lap se ven, Mark Foster suddenly appeared as a
cha llenge to Kuni tsugu lor third. Roun ding tum
fou r, Foster showed a wheel to Kunitsu gu , who
su ddenly realized his hold on third was in jeopa rdy. Kunitsu gu tw isted the throt tle, but was
und e r steady p ressu re fro m Fos te r fo r th e
remainin g two laps. At the line, despite Foster's
best efforts to use the dralt to catch Kunitsu gu, it
was Sorenson with the win, lollowed by Pleifer
in seco nd and Kunits ugu in third.
"'Powerwise, my TZ250 is one of the fastest
250s I'v e ever ridden," said Sorenson after the
ra ce . He is on e 01 the to p rid ers in the AMA
250cc class .
