The port timing and shape are modified. It has a redesigned flat-top piston com plemented by a new Power Jet carbu retor. And the igni tion timing has been refined for optimu m combustion. The result? Power that's insta ntly accessible whether accelerating out of com ers or pulling hard do wn a straightaway. This year the RM250's slick-shifting transm ission is slicker still. A refined clutch increases durability. And beefed-up transmission compo nents make it more rugged than ever. But better engine perfo rma nce is only half the story. The RM250 features thoro ughly refined front and rear suspension systems. The conventiona l, twin chamber cartridge-type forks - already renowned as the most responsive units on the track - are lighte r with red uced friction. The rear suspension features a new swingarm and linkage. and a larger-di ameter shock piston.
