Johnny Campbell, Tim Staab and Greg Bringle came down to Ensenada and had loads offun. You know, fun like 707 miles oftorturous desert is fun. Like riding 13 hours over sadistically jarring terrain is fun . (But then what other 707-mile race feels like it's 1,aOO?) Fortunately for this Honda racing team, they had taken on the course aboard a rugged Honda ~628. So they could handle anything Baja dished out. Tearing along at an average speed of52.6 miles an hour. Not over roads, mind you. But over whatever punishment the desert threw in its path. So what exactly was the fun part in all of this? Finishing first overall and an unheard ofone and a half hours ahead of the second place motorcycle team. And even then, they were also riding a Honda XR In total, the top ten motorcycle finishers were on Hondas. This domination was an amazing feat to be sure. But not that surprising. After all, Honda has swept every SCORE event this season. Y our weekend down there did go by awfully fast It's kind of a shame we can only do this once a year. eah,
