Dave Mu noz (w ho wa s n't able to race th e
first ra ce) and Costella. were the fast est Novices
to begi n the seco nd motu. Abecassis soon got on
the ga .. an d ba ttled hi.. way into the lead , pulling
St. Georg e, U ta h 's Luke Draper (w ho had
cr ashed out of the first race ) with him. A5 the
race con ti nu ed , Abccassis kept the heat on and
eve ntually took the I!asy win ahead of Draper,
w ho was circulating in a lonely second pl ace.
There was plenty of acti on for spo ts three and
fou r, ho we ver, as Munoz and Jason Derschan
we re really go ing at it. Mun oz finished just inches ahead of Derschan for third.
There was no qu es tion abou t who earned the
to p . po t in t he 125cc N ovice class, as Clark
Abccass is' 'two wins wrapped it up. Derschan
was ab le to takv old vant age of his rivals' up-andd own fortun es , howeve r , a .. his tw o s tea dy
fourth-place finishes added up to a second over a ll. Cos tella finished d d UM! third o veral l.
