As the hard-charging A riders blasted into
the firs t turn, it w as Fast Cycle's Chuc:k Reed.
leading fellow veterans Greg Rand, Strunk and
Ioa h S t~ 1. and rookie Ryan Mc H a le . Rand
quickly went to work d isplacing Reed to take
ove r the lead, while Steel passed McHale to take
ove r fourth. TI\e four veterans led in that order
to the end of mota one. Nevertheless, behind the
veterans w as 0I"Ile of bes t battles of the nigh t On
lap two, Scott Metz attempted to stuff his KXI25
u n d er McHal e to take over fifth p lac e, bu t
McHale held his h ne, forcing Metz a n d his
Kawasaki to sample the soil. Then Chad Ryan
wo rked his CRl25 through the pac k to challenge
Beechmont Moto rsport's McHale, only to crash
in the technical whoop section. leaving McRIIe
unchallenged to the checkers. The final order
was Rand, Reed, Strunk, Steel and McHale.
In mot o two, it was Rand lead ing the pack
this tim e into t um o ne, foll owed by St ru n k,
McHale, Reed, Jeremy Adams and Steel. Strunk .

Rand for the lead, while Steel passed Adams for
fourth. On lap three, Reed executed a great drive
through the wh oop secti on, passing Mc:Hale to
ta ke ov er th ird place. As the w hite flag came
out, it loo ked as though the race woul d remain
the sa me, with Rand leading the pack, How ever,
one tum later, Rand locked up his motor, forfeiting the lead to Strun k, who was followed by
Reed, McHale. Steel and Adams an the way to
the finish, Strunk earned the overall win,. with
Reed second and McHale third.
